This assignment is designed to help you sharpen your proofreading and editing skills. Your task: to find and correct errors in published materials distributed to the public, including typos and errors in spelling, word use, grammar and AP style.

Here are the categories of eligible published materials and their point values.

PR and advertising materials, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, ads, direct mail, menus, posters...and even signs and billboards

Academic & non-profit publications, including green sheets, assignment sheets, newsletters, church service programs and bulletins, etc.

Proofing: get out your magnifying glass
Caveats:
To get full credit, you must circle, highlight or describe the error and correct it. You must also specify where you found the error. Repeated errors count only once per document. No more than one "a.m./p.m." error per person per semester. The instructor has final say on whether or not an "error" qualifies for credit for this assignment.
